Charmaine earned an Associate of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice from the Prince George’s County Community College. She is a 25 year veteran of the Prince George’s County Police Department and currently holds the rank of Lieutenant. Charmaine helped establish the first Domestic Violence Unit for the police department and commanded the unit for five years. She now works in the Office of the County Executive, Special Assistant to the Deputy Chief Administrative Officer for Public Safety. Her area of professional work has included numerous years of criminal investigations specializing in child abuse and domestic violence. She has completed multiple trainings in domestic violence to include the Duluth Model for Domestic Abuse Intervention. She is a certified general instructor by the Maryland Police Training Commission. Charmaine Harvin is a member of the community that she serves.
