Chiereme Fortune

Chiereme Fortune is a member of Zion Church, one of three siblings, and a seven year spoken word veteran with a number of performances under her belt. Some of her most notable performances include being the 2017 Maryland show opener for the international Poets in Autumn Tourfeaturing world renowned poets like Ezekiel, Jackie Hill Perry and Janet...IKZ, and partnering with the Metropolitan Police Department to raise awareness about Sexual Assault Prevention. She blessed to also be one of four members of the Girls and Guitars’ Official #ShePlaystoWin Touring ensemble.

Chiereme sees writing as her main gift and calling, and it fuels her spoken word poetry, songwriting and writer-preneur hustle. When she’s not writing, gracing the mic or curating exclusive content for her Poetry+Profit+Prose weekly newsletter, you can find her thrifting for leather jackets, parading in creased-cowgirl boots, watching reruns of Golden Girls and A Different World and working in the Army ROTC Department at Bowie State University.

Her motto and life verse is Ecclesiastes 3:11: “He[God] has made all things beautiful in its time,” and Chiereme passionately believes that our stories are the most beautifulgifts we can give.
