NaRochelle Hammond

NaRochelle (Na) Hammond became a member of the First Baptist Church of Glenarden (FBCG) in December 2015 and immediately became active in discipleship ministry to serve our Lord Jesus Christ. After graduation from the Divine Discipleship for Sisters (DDS) in 2017, she joined the Birthday and Secret Sister Team and later became a member of Core Team. In 2018 she joined the Women’s Focus Studies (WFS) Administrative Team.

She was born in Salisbury, MD and reared as a member of St. Paul AME Zion Church. Upon graduation from high school, Na made her way to Washington DC, to attend Howard University where she studied Art History and Fashion Merchandising.

In the midst of her studies, she returned home to care for the late Ralph and Iola Robinson, her great-grandparents, who raised her from birth. She faithfully served them until they were called home, seven months apart due to chronic illnesses. After which she rededicated her life to Christ in the summer of 2004.

As the first member in her immediate family to graduate from both undergraduate and graduate education, Na uses her Business Administration and Human Resources education to work as a Workforce Development supervisor for the U.S. Department of Defense.

As a lifelong learner, Na attends classes, forums and leadership development seminars which enhance her spiritual, professional and personal growth.

Her personal passion is community service, particularly to bring awareness to mental health stigmas and issues in the Afro-American community. Advocacy and empowerment for women and girls of all ages and socio-economic status, also holds a special place in her heart. Na uses her life as a single woman to serve as light for others to see the goodness, grace and mercy of the Kingdom of God.
